Not sure if there is anything else I need to do. I shut down my computer and disconnected the AC power (it was not on battery) for 10 minutes. I ran a full scan by Kaspersky Total Security (KTS) on my computer and the other two computers in the house plus scanning the two network drives I have. Unfortunately, I had installed two applications-one of which I think was a remote desktop application (litemanager 4.9 and UltraViewer 6.2). Whilst they were asking/telling me why would I not want $400 cash, etc-I disconnected my internet connection, uninstalled their programs, and insisted on hanging up and told them they could have the $400 since I don't remember spending that much at Best Buy recently. Luckily, I have a firm policy that my bank info is not given out to anyone. I chose "check" and saw a notice that said due to COVID-19 the check option was not avail. When it got to getting the refund, the choices appeared to be "check" or "bank". Then they insisted I had a refund coming and sent me an email. I don't normally use Chrome, so don't know if that was helpful or not. They had me use Chrome to access their web site. I kept asking what product and I never heard what they said clearly-that should have been a tipoff that something wasn't right. The phone line was noisy but they kept saying something about software renewal going into effect tomorrow for $399.99. I looked at the number shown by caller ID, it was. In my defense, my husband answered the phone and passed the phone to me saying Best Buy was calling. I am embarassed to report that I think I got hit with this scam late this afternoon.
